Thailand already possesses many of the essential elements of a leading MICE destination: strong infrastructure, international connectivity, a diverse range of venues, experienced service providers, growing target industries, as well as culture, cuisine and experiences that can distinguish a business journey.
In today’s global MICE market, however, “potential” alone may no longer be enough. Organisers are not simply looking for countries that can accommodate large numbers of participants or provide a full range of convention centres and hotels. Increasingly, they also consider how effectively a destination can help an event achieve its business objectives, what kind of experience participants will have, and what value or outcomes can continue after the event ends.
This thinking lies behind the launch of MaxiMICE Thailand – From Potential to Exponential, a new brand for Thailand’s MICE industry that TCEB officially unveiled at IMEX Frankfurt 2026 in Germany. The brand positions Thailand to move beyond being a destination that is simply ready to host events, towards becoming a place where events can generate business opportunities, collaboration and outcomes that extend well beyond the event itself.
From Potential to Exponential therefore does not simply mean increasing the number of events or participants. It is about connecting Thailand’s existing strengths so that one conference can lead to new networks, one exhibition can open new markets for businesses, and one incentive journey can create memorable experiences for participants while spreading benefits to local businesses and communities.
