Bangkok, 11 August 2026 – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), or TCEB, today announced the launch of MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen under the theme “Thailand: Meet for More”, introducing a new dimension of overseas business events marketing focused on the Chinese market.
The event will bring together around 100 leading Thai organisations from the public sector, private sector and academia in the largest collaboration of its kind ever organised by TCEB. Through a single platform, Thailand will showcase business opportunities across a broad range of industries to around 1,000 high-quality Chinese business participants, covering trade, investment, MICE, tourism, technology, digital economy, education, food, healthcare and the creative economy.
TCEB expects the event to generate at least 800 business matching appointments between Thai and Chinese companies, with an estimated business value of THB 1 billion, alongside the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to strengthen Thailand–China business cooperation in the area of exhibition and technology & innovation.
Dr. Supawan Teerarat, President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, said that MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen represents a new generation of overseas business events designed to create both national value and high-impact economic outcomes for Thailand.
“This is the first time TCEB has received such unprecedented support from leading economic agencies, private sector businesses and academic institutions, with around 100 organisations participating. Importantly, participation extends far beyond the traditional MICE sector to include trade, investment, tourism, technology, digital industries, education, food, healthcare and the creative economy. As a result, MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen will be the largest and most comprehensive overseas market engagement platform ever organised by TCEB for Thai businesses across multiple sectors,” she said.
“MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen reflects TCEB’s proactive strategic shift to align with a rapidly evolving global business landscape, where organisations increasingly seek faster and more tangible returns on investment (ROI). The event consolidates Thailand’s strengths, expertise, capabilities and opportunities from key economic sectors onto a single platform, enabling Thailand to present a unified and compelling business proposition to Chinese companies. It offers an efficient and high-value gateway for Chinese businesses exploring opportunities in overseas markets, particularly in ASEAN, where Thailand continues to play a central role as a regional hub.”
Key Thai government agencies participating in MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by the Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Board of Investment (BOI), the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (I-EA-T), and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa).
The private sector delegation will comprise representatives from hotels, convention and exhibition venues, destination management companies (DMCs), organisers of conferences, exhibitions and festivals, MICE industry associations, tourism operators, technology companies, travel retail businesses, logistics providers, digital media firms, healthcare companies, food businesses, toy and character industries, and creative economy enterprises. Participating organisations, including universities, come from key destinations across Thailand, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, Chonburi, Rayong and Lopburi.
Held under the theme “Thailand: Meet for More,” the event aims to position Thailand as a gateway to diverse business opportunities for Chinese enterprises while also enabling Thai companies to connect with the Chinese market through business matching, networking and knowledge exchange. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to encourage Chinese businesses to leverage Thailand as a regional hub for meetings, exhibitions and investment activities targeting the ASEAN market.
Shenzhen was selected as the host city due to its status as a global centre for innovation, technology and investment within the Greater Bay Area (GBA)—one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions and home to a large concentration of high-quality business travellers and investors.
More broadly, China remains one of Thailand’s most important source markets for MICE, tourism, trade and investment, while also offering significant opportunities for collaboration in advanced innovation and technology sectors.
MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen has also secured support from leading Chinese organisations responsible for promoting international trade and investment at the national, provincial and municipal levels. Around 1,000 Chinese business participants are expected to attend, representing associations and enterprises from the MICE, tourism, international trade and investment sectors, as well as e-commerce, software development, artificial intelligence (AI) industries and chambers of commerce.
TCEB aims to facilitate at least 800 Thailand–China business matching meetings, generating an estimated business value of THB 1 billion. The event will also witness the signing of MOUs between Thai and Chinese organisations, particularly in the exhibition, technology and innovation sectors.
“This event carries significant importance in further strengthening economic relations between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China,” Dr. Supawan added. “We are honoured that Mr. Jiang Wei, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, joined the launch press conference and delivered a keynote address on ‘Enhancing Thailand–China Cooperation through MEET Thai Plus’.”
MEET Thai Plus 2026 Shenzhen will take place on 9–10 September 2026 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre (SZCEC) in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China. The event will occupy 7,500 square metres of exhibition and meeting space and is expected to attract 1,500 participants, including 1,000 B2B delegates.
